Peace Pole Map Project
This is a new HRNN webpage and it is a work in progress. You should see a Google Map of Hampton Roads above, and below is listed information on all the Peace Poles planted in our community that we know of.
If you don't see the map you may have to click on something to "allow blocked content" - if you see a message asking about your web browser has "restricted this file from showing active content". Or it may be that your browser doesn't support the Google Map. More info coming on this.
If you do see the map, then you can click on one of the "markers", there will be info on a Peace Pole, and I'm working to put more there - probably I'll try to put in a link to the info below..

The plan is to collect information on all the Peace Poles that have been planted in Hampton Roads and to develop the Google map above marking each site, and to link to and give some background / history behind each Peace Pole planting.
Information that we'd like for each Peace Pole:
Name of location (ex/Mt. Trashmore).
Address - lat/lng for the Peace Pole.
Date the Peace Pole was planted.
The occasion for the Peace Pole Planting.
Languages included on the Peace Pole.
Group or individual(s) that sponsored the Peace Pole planting.
Group or individual(s) that funded the Peace Pole planting.
Comments / Remembrances.
